Voices from the war by Rudi Vranckx is nominated for the Bob den Uyl price 2009. This annual price, organised by the Dutch broadcasting network VPRO, honours this year's best work of travel literature.
Rudi Vranckx is one of Belgiums best known tv-journalists. For the last 20 odd years he has covered the major armed conflicts in Europe and the Middle East. He works with the public broadcasting network VRT and has published three books on the conflict in the Middle East, of which Voices from the war is the most recent and succesful one.
